Key Stage One
Year 1
Hedingham Castle
We had a fantastic day at Hedingham Castle. We met lots of different people who told us about their jobs. We even saw real archery and dared to visit the dungeon! Miss Jones and Mrs Barry nearly had their heads chopped off. We took part in storytelling, wrestling and listened to the sounds of a hurdy gurdy. We were so enthusiastic and have now become castle experts. Well done to us!
Donarbon
Yuck, a trip to the rubbish dump! That was what we all thought when we heard about this adventure. How wrong we were. We all enjoyed our guided tour courtesy of Mark who explained where all our rubbish is taken. We learnt about recycling and saw a gigantic landfill site. Favourite parts of the trip included seeing huge diggers, fast trucks and hundreds of circling seagulls. Mark told us the most important message to remember was DON’T PUT PLASTIC BAGS IN THE GREEN BIN! (We thought we’d spread the word.)
Circus Skills
Do-de-do-de-do-de-do-do-do-do (to the tune of the circus theme). Roll up, roll up, you would never believe your eyes if you saw what we got up to the day the circus came to Year One. Did you know we can balance a peacock feather on the palm of our hand? Did you know we can balance a peacock feather on one elbow? Did you know we can even balance a peacock feather on our forehead? Well we can! Along with juggling scarves, plate spinning, Diablo and riding bikes with no handlebars!

Victorian Day
As part of year 2 history work we devoted a whole week to studying Victorians. On one day we all dressed up as Victorians and pretended to be in a Victorian school. We spent the day learning poems to recite, embroidering, washing clothes, doing calligraphy and learning tables. Any children failing to do all of these subjects well had to sit in the corner with a dunce hat on!

Model Making
For DT children had to design and make a vehicle that could move. We had great fun designing our own vehicles and working out how to keep the wheels on. As you can see we had all types of vehicles from aeroplanes to jet propelled cars.
